Azman Air has informed the public that Dangote’s son-in-law, Captain Jamil Abubakar, is no longer on its payroll as a pilot.

This was contained in a notice made available on Sunday May 15, 2022.
Abubakar who is ex-IGP Mohammed Dikko Abubakar son, came under criticism on his comments regarding the killing of Deborah Samuel, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, for alleged blasphemy.
The pilot in a now deleted post said the punishment for blasphemy is death. He, however, stated afterwards that it was not an endorsement of the brutal Ms. Samuel.
But his statement did not appease some media users who took to Twitter to call for boycott of Azman Air.
Samuel Ajayi wrote: “I heard that Nigerian pilot defending death for blasphemy flies Azman airline In all honesty I will be very afraid You just don’t know when someone has crossed his redline.”
Raymond stated that; “Captain Jamil Abubakar is a pilot of Azman Air… @AzmanAir Your pilot is an extremist with dangerous religious beliefs. You just lost a customer and hopefully many more. Ciao.”Anderson Talks said: I already have a ticket for Azman air, I would rather forget the ticket and go for another airline.I no dey for how manage.
Nnegi Whitemoney wrote: “Let’s start by boycotting Azman Airs who’s using an extremist as their pilot !!!!!”Azman Air, however, tweeted that Abubakar’s last flight as its employee was in 2019.
The statement reads: “Capt Jamil Abubakar is no longer a pilot @AzmanAir; his last flight with us was 22nd Dec 2019.“We refuse to take responsibility for a comment or view of a former staff. The General Public should kindly take note,” the airline said.
